UNIDO
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization implements MAMAP under GMAP, coordinating technical assistance, capacity development and support to quality infrastructure.
Norway · Norad
Norway funds the project through the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad).
National counterpart · MAAP
The Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Fisheries is the national counterpart following restructuring of the Ministry of the Sea, Inland Waters and Fisheries (MIMAIP), with which implementation began.
Quality, inspection and development institutions
INIP and IDEPA play central roles in fisheries inspection and fisheries and aquaculture development. INNOQ works on standards and quality. Support also covers LIP and other public, academic and laboratory institutions identified in the report.
Producers, education and partner organisations
AMPCM contributes to cooperative organisation and formalisation, while AMAQUA supports engagement with the private sector. Escola de Pesca and Mártir Cipriano Polytechnic Institute contribute to vocational capacity. Enterprises, cooperatives, associations and local authorities participate in applying and sharing good practices.
Cooperation across programmes
Work on the six standards was undertaken in synergy with PROMOVE Comércio. This collaboration is identified in the report and is acknowledged in presenting the result.
